Capacity, Not Dependency
We build capacity, not dependency — and accompany, rather than direct.
The test of any contribution is whether it leaves a community more able to shape its own future, or more reliant on outside help. We favour the first: funding that releases local capacity rather than standing in for it.
In practice this means treating those we support as protagonists of their own development, not recipients of services — beginning with listening, accompanying over years, and letting communities define what matters most.
“Development is the process of expanding the real freedoms that people enjoy.”Amartya Sen
In Practice
Funding local capacity rather than importing external solutions.
Accompanying partners over years, not transaction by transaction.
Trusting communities to set their own priorities and lead their own work.
