The Inherent Oneness of Humankind
Humanity is a single, interconnected family — and prosperity that is not shared is not yet prosperity.
The conviction that humankind is one underlies everything the Foundation does. It is not a sentiment but an organizing principle: the recognition that the well-being of any community is bound up with the well-being of all, and that the inherited divisions of nation, class, and creed obscure a more fundamental unity.
Acting from this premise reorders our priorities. It asks us to measure progress not by the advancement of a few but by the rising capacity of the whole, and to design every initiative so that it strengthens the bonds between people rather than the barriers that divide them.
“The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens.”Bahá’u’lláh
